Established in 2010, Tadek is an independent consultancy with a reputation as a dynamic consultancy resource for Marine, Offshore & Subsea projects. We offer services in mooring and umbilical design, naval architecture, and installation analysis to the oil and gas, marine renewables and offshore wind industries.
Tadek’s particular strength is to work closely with customers to ensure assets are safely installed offshore and interfaced to existing or new infrastructure in the most cost-efficient way.

About the Role
How does the role contribute to the overall company mission?
You will be part of the naval architect team of 14 naval architects with a diverse remit. As well as supporting various consultancy projects within the growing FOW market (sizing / scaling studies, mooring assessments, archetype comparisons) you will support some of our core business work, delivering hydrodynamic modelling, stability and transportation assessments and supporting the installation analysis team within complex offshore energy systems (i.e. heavy lift, SURF, floatover, mooring, cable and pipelay installation). You will also interface with clients, suppliers, our team and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of weight report (inc. inertia derivation)
- Manipulation of surfaces and development of meshes for a range of offshore structures and vessels
- Perform stability checks using dedicated software and/or hand-calculation from 1st principles
- Hydrodynamic model setup and validation. Development of 1st order RAOs, 2nd Order QTFs, wind & current coefficients
- Analysis of vessel motions to identify limiting criteria
- Responsible for mooring setup and analysis
- Derivation of bollard pull calculations
- Preparing technical reports
- Responsible for engineering deliverables in accordance with the project schedule, quality and other specific project requirements
- Actively participate in the consolidation of the expertise of the engineering team
- Offer innovative solutions that enable the reduction of costs
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Hard Skills, Soft Skills
Required:
- Master’s of Engineering/Science in Naval Architecture or Offshore Engineering
- Graduate: 0+ years of professional experience
- Junior: 1-5 years of professional experience
- Intermediate: 5-8 years of professional experience
- Experience in Python language for pre-post processing of engineering analyses
- Experienced user of engineering tools; Mathcad, Inventor, AutoCAD, Maxsurf, Rhino
- Confident and able to work on own initiative without supervision
- Autonomy and use of initiative to coordinate and collaborate
- Team player who can guide and train project members on the job
- Good communication skills.
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
Desirable:
- Relevant work experience in the offshore energy sector
- Offshore projects transportation and installation experience
- Experienced in performing mooring and hydrodynamic analysis
- Familiarity with Offshore Operations and structures
- Knowledge of Orcaflex with mooring and vessel operations
- Experience with the following engineering tools: AnSYS, MOSES, Orcaflex
- Familiarity with offshore code and standards
Essential Information
Hours and working pattern
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Additional hours may be required during project execution phases.
Location
The role is based at Tadek’s office in Woking, Surrey (and/or hybrid/remote as applicable). International travel including offshore/off-site location may be required during project execution phases.
