Tadek Ocean Engineering is celebrating its inspirational female leaders on International Women’s Day.
The UK firm, offering dynamic consultancy and project delivery services, are fortunate to have inspiring female leaders working across the company, including Senior Naval Architect Dr Daniela Benites, Project Support Manager Claire Berghorst and Marketing & Business Support Manager Liz Jackson.
Introducing Dr Daniela Benites
Currently, there is a very small percentage of women in naval architecture in the UK, a statistic Tadek are keen to help improve. Daniela, as a key technical team member, brings academic depth and rigour to the organisation, helping set Tadek apart as an expert in complex ocean engineering.
Upon receiving her degree in Naval Architecture in her native country, Ecuador, she started working in the shipyard industry. To further her studies, she achieved an MSc. in Offshore Engineering at Newcastle University and a PhD. in Computational Wave-Structure Interaction at UCL.
She has worked on various projects across the marine sector, including offshore consultancy and academia.
Introducing Claire Berghorst
Claire, who helps steer Tadek with effective project support, holds a Computer Science BSc degree from the University of South Africa and has extensive experience working in the IT industry at large corporations.
She started her career as a developer, and quickly progressed to a business analyst, project manager, development manager, moving into programme management in the medical insurance industry.
Not one to sit still, Claire completed yoga teacher training in 2008 and was awarded a senior yoga teacher qualification in 2018. Claire teaches both locally and internationally, which includes getting the Tadek team moving with weekly yoga classes.
Introducing Liz Jackson
Liz brings a wealth of experience in office management, business support and personal assistance to Tadek. She has extensive knowledge of business processes, proactively managing systems and processes that help drive the business forward.

Liz also oversees marketing, ISO 9001 quality management system, with day-to-day business operations and HR.
