Field Development
Field development requires various levels of engineering at the different decision points of the project value chain. This applies equally to oil & gas projects as it does to renewable energy developments. Tadek is in an excellent position to offer the right design and engineering support for each of the project phases. Our expertise valued by our clients and assists them with floater selection, station keeping solutions and power cable solutions.
Owner’s Engineering
Tadek steps in where clients require specialist support to assist their in-house team. Tadek engineers and analysts undertake this work on a project basis, but also in longer term support roles. Recent activities include the review of analysis, procedures, and design reports. We also advise on topics like vessel suitability where we review and independently assess contractor proposed vessel capabilities such as operability in dynamic environments and dynamic positioning capability and weigh these against operational requirements.
Technical Due Diligence
Financial firms require technical due diligence as part of a project sanction or other investment decision. Tadek’s independence and track record in the offshore industry makes us an excellent partner to undertake a due diligence task. We have the expertise to review documentation on the design, fabrication, assembly and installation of offshore structures, but also on the schedule and cost of maritime operations.
Expert Witness and Forensic Engineering
In the unfortunate event that things do go wrong, a detailed and comprehensible investigation assists in resolving the issues that follow. Our team has experience in forensic engineering and expert witness support to legal representatives. We have undertaken root cause analyses of various cable failures where we model the cable numerically to reproduce the failure on screen. In some cases we have also provided corrective measures to resolve the issue.
Risk Assessment
We undertake risk assessments as part of project offerings and as stand-alone deliverables. We lead hazard identification (HAZID) and hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies for various projects and operations. These activities are particularly useful when applied in qualification of technology programs as they are closely linked.
