Education and professional background
Declan is a recent addition to the Tadek team, bringing a wealth of engineering expertise with him.
Declan holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Ireland Galway and an MEngSc in Marine Renewable Energy from University College Cork, Ireland. During his studies, he completed an internship at Wavepower Ltd. in the UK, where he investigated the feasibility of co-located offshore wind and wave energy sites.
After graduating, Declan joined Wavepower Ltd. as a graduate engineer, gaining experience in wave energy technology performance analysis and financial modelling. Following Wavepower’s closure in 2017, he worked at Tidal Flyer Ltd. as a Design Engineer, contributing to the development of tidal energy technology through prototype development and testing.
Declan later expanded his project engineering skills at DePuy Synthes, where he worked in the biomedical device manufacturing industry.
Declan’s expertise
Declan joined Tadek to leverage his project engineering skills in the delivery of offshore infrastructure projects and the development of renewable energy sites. With experience in both renewable energy and biomedical industries, he brings a broad range of skills to effectively manage projects and resolve challenges.
One of Declan’s recent achievements was his involvement in the manufacture and validation of custom-built Aquablast machines, where he played a key role in identifying design solutions that ensured on-time delivery and improved the project’s overall efficiency.

Outside of work
When not at his desk you will find him at the beach or in the mountains. As an avid surfer and rock climber, he loves the outdoors.
