👀 What is the cost of downtime ?
👀 Can engineering limits be increased ?
👀 Can operational processes be optimized ?
👀 Is there a cost benefit to more expensive alternative equipment ?

At Tadek Ocean Engineering we answer these questions and more using Forecoast advanced statistical modelling software developed by JBA Consulting. The team then engineer and optimize solutions via complex analysis and project engineering excellence.

Recently the project engineering team developed operability statistics, specifically a downtime assessment, for the installation of FWTs for an undisclosed project.

The work developed operability for:
·        Operation 1 – Tow. Transportation of the Floating Wind Platform from Eriador to the Lebennin Yard in Gondor for assembly.
·        Operation 2 – Mooring Line Installation. Installation of rope component to each of the 18 mooring lines
·        Operation 3 – Tow out & Hook Up. Departure from Lebinnin, transfer to offshore tow, tow to site and hook up on mooring lines.

The analysis was completed for 5 environmental load cases. The cases are summarised as:
·        ELC 1 – Base Case
·        ELC 2 – Increase Wind limit (2 steps)
·        ELC 3 – Increase Wave limit (2 steps)
·        ELC 4 – Increase both (2 steps)
·        ELC 5 – Variable durations

Note: Names have been changed. 🙂
