Dynamic cables and their ancillaries are a top priority within the floating offshore wind industry. We’re focusing on reducing cable failures seen in other marine technologies.
Tadek Ocean Engineering, in partnership with Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, is conducting a state-of-the-art industry review on Dynamic Cable Interfaces (DCI). This includes components like Bend Stiffener Connectors (BSC), cable tube designs (I/J tubes), hang-offs, High-Voltage (HV) connectors, quick release, weak link, pull-in heads and installation technologies. Our review will explore potential industry solutions proposed by manufacturers and other DCI stakeholders.
The DCI project aims to:
🔹 Identify innovative solutions to enhance DCI reliability and performance for floating offshore wind.
🔹 Define well-established technologies and expected interface types.
Meaningful collaboration is crucial to accelerating innovation. We invite all DCI industry leaders—designers, manufacturers, suppliers, owners, users, and installation contractors—to contribute by filling out our questionnaire.
If you would like more information on this project or related matters, don’t hesitate to contact us.
