Education and professional background

Becky holds an MSc in Engineering Fluid Mechanics from Imperial College London and a BSc (Hons) in Natural Sciences from the University of Bath.

Her MSc focused on offshore and coastal environments, and for her master’s thesis she investigated how high-frequency spectral components, spectral bandwidth, and wind forcing influence the onset of ocean wave breaking. This work strengthened her expertise in complex wave mechanics, technical analysis, and scientific programming, while further developing her interest in ocean processes.

Becky’s expertise

Becky has a strong grounding in fluid mechanics, with particular expertise in wave mechanics, coastal processes, fluid loading, air-sea interaction dynamics and sediment transport.

She is skilled in Python and MATLAB, with experience in signal and image processing, spectral analysis, and the development of automated data-processing workflows. Becky also has hands-on experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using OpenFOAM.

Outside of work

Becky enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being active outdoors. She also enjoys painting, music and all things food!
