About the Role

As a Mechanical Design & Project Engineer at Tadek, you’ll support the delivery of engineering work across offshore and marine projects — contributing to both technical design and project execution. Working across concept, detailed design, fabrication and installation, you’ll develop designs for offshore equipment while building project engineering capability.

This role is suited to engineers with 2–5 years’ experience looking to grow into well-rounded engineers with increasing responsibility. You’ll gain exposure to full project lifecycles, client interaction and offshore operations, while working within a collaborative team focused on practical, high-quality engineering delivery.

Core Responsibilities

  • Produce 3D CAD models and detailed fabrication drawings
  • Design offshore equipment (such as lifting frames, grillages, seafastening and cable handling systems)
  • Develop engineering concepts through to detailed design packages
  • Perform structural analysis using FEA and supporting hand calculations
  • Prepare calculation reports and technical design justifications
  • Support delivery of engineering scopes across design, fabrication and installation phases
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers and fabricators to support project execution
  • Assist with mobilisation, offshore installation and site activities
  • Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and deliverables
  • Contribute to design reviews and support internal project coordination

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 2–5 years’ experience
  • Experience with CAD (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD)
  • Experience with structural analysis (FEA and/or hand calculations)
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)

Skills

  • Strong 3D CAD modelling and fabrication drawing capability
  • Solid understanding of structural behaviour and mechanical design principles
  • Experience with FEA and validation using hand calculations
  • Clear, concise technical reporting and documentation
  • Good communication across teams, clients, and suppliers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

Essential Information

  • Location: Woking, Surrey (office base with hybrid/remote flexibility).
  • Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week). Additional hours may be required during project execution phases.
  • Travel: International travel including offshore/off-site locations may be required.
