Education and professional background
Syed holds an MSc in Engineering Projects & Systems Management from Kingston University London, graduating with a Distinction in January 2024. Since joining Saipem in 2024 as a Graduate Engineer – Advanced Analysis, Syed has quickly established himself as a capable and driven engineer, building hands-on expertise in Pipelay and Mooring Analysis within the offshore sector.

Syed is an experienced OrcaFlex user with a strong track record across pipelay, structural deployment, and mooring analysis. His analytical capabilities are complemented by a practical background in 3D modelling, giving him a well-rounded engineering perspective that bridges design and advanced analysis. Known for his sharp problem-solving abilities and capacity to get up to speed quickly, Syed is able to add value from day one on technically demanding projects.
Outside of work
Syed is a car enthusiast and if he’s not working on his car, he’s probably thinking about it. When he does manage to tear himself away from the garage, you’ll find him 3D printing his latest idea or out on the golf range.
